Chimerical Creature interrupts smooth to introduce spikey
ignores silence of every frosty kind but prefers morning
avoids rulers —
straight off at the sight of one
asks impossible questions
twinkle in one eye while slightly angry in the other
maintains poise on sheer plod
which is not flat in any sense at all
always ready to take flight
wings help if they are impossible too
actually no help is needed
the best fun can be difficult to believe
look! there! flapping just ahead
chimerical swinging doors letting light leak over everything
but can you trust those nostrils
snorting chimerical breath rosy as many fingered dawns?
ah Gerard my dear! what you saw
dappled things!
