sleights of memory roil in eyes thick with tears
and ganglia strung around the body
open their mouths without permission
deep ache --
the long tail of a huge creature slips away in darkness
go / go without asking –
without asking anymore why or how or what to do
let mind and body’s angels work -- involuntary
together
a delicate mystery --
contained / containing
ocean / and its creature leviathan
together
the sea-strong pull of this idea –
this adventure is everyone’s
unwilled unwanted feeling
forgotten
the extraction
unmeasured space
outside / and the pull of this idea

What a powerful opening line to this thought-provoking poem, Jo. To me it reflects upon life’s patterns. Interesting and calls to be read over and over again.
