POEMS

Bush Fire

Date: November 8, 2024Author: Jo Mariner 0 Comments
grass flames
plumes black

orange greed
chuckles at the root

insects spark
slow incinerates

grins pull tight
open cracks

frightened men
pretend

innocence
climbs on mother’s back

green within
may survive

some things die
some things don’t

moonlit ash
map of tree

I have recorded my poems because I believe it is important to HEAR them. It seems to take a few minutes for the audio to load. But it's important. Wait a bit. You can listen and read along to the printed text on each posting.
