fragile moon begs / chilly star wavers / dawn denys both
I walk into amber twilight after rain / a needle
threads its slippery pain / up my wordless throat
this thought / doing without you /
possible / possible fact
I slam a door/
a fool / slams a door to keep the heart empty
I open the door
plead
slight moonlight / pale rainscent
beauty / useless
this thought /
/ without you /
/ all my voices / gather protest / all my eyes / prick to see / my hearing stretch alert for
comfort
what comes / what comes
a mounting wave towers / lifts me / passes / deserts me /
awash / in the same place /
I imagine silence / I howl / I choose
the best / I can
do

I love your choice of images, for instance that of a needle in the throat – strong and disturbing! And the wisdom that threads through these lines – ‘a fool slams a door to keep the heart empty’…
